Understanding about oneself than understanding about our connections with God and understanding his creations is divine knowledge.
Faith or Being Pious
To gain divine knowledge one must have faith in God. Though faithfulness or piousness is practiced in different ways. They are generally upgraded stage by stage upon an individual's understanding and willpower.
a. Simple praying methods
b. Participating in religious ceremonies, fasting and chanting mantras.
c. Captivating the features (god) worshipped for meditation and practicing jabams (rotating of rosary beads)
d. Feeling the presence of God worshipped within oneself. This is the highest stage than the rest above.

Soul
A very tiny mini portion of light as described by great saints; imparted from the universal form of God. It gives life to everything. The soul is entrapped in various bodies. It is forced into many rebirths according to the good and bad deeds of one. The divine 3rd eye only sees the soul. The soul cannot be harmed in anyway. Upon self-realization it returns to its origin.
Mirror; mirror on the wall, who is the fairest among all?
Well this is not another fairy tale. The actual fairness of a person is only revealed when he is clearing his sins and nearing god. The glow of divine brightness is clearly seen by everyone. Souls in various bodies easily recognize him and show their respect immediately.
"Like the sea and the waves"; God is compared to the sea and humans with the waves. The blow of the wind representing our recurring thoughts that forces us into many births. Purification gain through self-realization leads to a stage when the mind is set upon god very comfortably. On achieving it completely, some may discard their body, others will disappear with their body and seldom people might change to light form like Sri Ramalinga Adigal. This is not a joke! It is true.
The power in our body is so great; yet most of us have wasted it away without even realising about it as our thoughts are always indulged in this materialistic world. Like birth and death, every creation has its ending point.
Religions
There are many religions that categorize its followers into sections with restrictions. It is a sort of discipline that is required to forsake our barriers apprehending us from salvation. We are the children of nature. Due to civilization and modernization, man enslaves himself into recurring desires and personal satisfaction.
Religion becomes a guide to us in being good by not doing sins. It assists us in upholding moral law. Holy books given by the messengers representing god's wishes is an inspiration for those who wish to become purified.
It is well known that Hinduism does not have a birth date. Hinduism is an identification code for its followers. It covers nearly all the subjects. When personal gratification becomes very obvious; it changed mankind to become selfish, cunning and notorious just to gain satisfaction. The accent of love in mankind subsided. To revive it, god sent a messenger to divert them onto the path of love and god consciousness.
When people became more civilized and modernized; different types of worshipping methods began to confuse them. Misinterpretation of unqualified spiritual leaders and those who used religion for personal gains ended up changing others and some even concluded that there is no god.
God sent another messenger to tell the world that there is only 'one' god without any form. Such god consciousness changed many to pray to 'one' god. This prayer is actually an upper stage in self-realization.
When love is closely associated with the heart, 'one' god prayer is closely associated with the mind. Both scientific knowledge and divine knowledge are gained if the mind is guided on the right path.
A new religion cannot be just created by anyone that would turn millions of people to become its followers without the grace of god. However, I understand that religion is only a path for salvation. When one reaches to the highest divine stage, he will feel that 'god' is above all religions.
The enormous power of god cannot be kept limited in the name of religion or worship. In the process of self-realization, if you asked me among the three; heart, mind and feelings which is more important definitely I would say that they are all entangled together to prove that they are equally important.
